Very close match that was not at all reflected with the respective positions in the table between both teams. Two goals in the first minutes of both halves gave the victory to 'Los Vileros'. Within the first 10 minutes, a good combination by the left-wing ended up in a shot that the visiting goalkeeper saved but Ivan was quick to bury the rebound, putting 1-0 on the scoreboard. With the result in favor, the home team sought to control the game completely but rather than sitting back keeping it tight, Benidorm CD put Villajoyosa under a bit of pressure and had their chances to trouble the home defence and forced Tonet (the home keeper) to intervene. The lack of effectiveness prevented the scoreline to increase for the home team and both sets of players took their place in the changing rooms.
The second half script was almost identical to the first. Villajoyosa CF came out again with all cylinders firing and before many fans had even taken their seat, Meji, from another cross from the left-hand side, finished in the top corner. Without lowering their arms and despite the fact that Villajoyosa tried their best to control the game, Benidorm CD reacted and with 20 minutes to go, got their reward. A nice counter-attack finished by Ivorra pulled oned back for the visitors. A very exciting game where both teams enjoyed their chances ending in a 2-1 result.
This result leaves Villajoyosa CF at the top of the table whereas Benidorm CD stay one more week in relegation places despite a very good performance.
