Benidorm CD have a new coach

Following the news, that Valencia CF legend, Javier Subirats left the club for 'personal reasons', Benidorm CD did not drag their heels and have already appointed their new manager. "El Maño" (as he is known in the area), was appointed as Javier Subirats' assistant coach at the beginning of this season, therefore the board is looking at continuing with the same ideology and style of play for their project, with the hope that they can succeed with the objective of staying in the division this season.

Last season he achieved the first promotion in the history of CF Calvari de Benidorm to 'Preferente', sealing a season to remember by finishing top of Group VII of 'First Regional', ahead of Pedreguer. 19 victories in 28 games promoted CFC Benidorm to the elite of territorial football in the Valencian Community.

Gascón left Calvari Benidorm this summer to focus on studying for UEFA Pro coach (level 3) to be able to make a career as a coach. Now, he will lead this Benidorm team in Preferente looking to master his experience in this category.

After achieving great results with the youth team of CF La Nucía in the 2016/17 season, “El Maño” took the reigns at Calpe CF in February 2018. A turbulent step with the team from Calpe, who, two months later, ended up being excluded from the league for "behind-the-scenes" issues. Gascón was the last coach in the history of Calpe CF.

Now, the new Benidorm CD coach will seek solutions to the teams' current problems. Located at the penultimate position on twelve points, they are three off CD Tháder, who sit just above relegation. The next meeting at FB Redovan is vital if they are looking at getting out of trouble.
